A Bond Deeper Than The Ocean by steven-donegani A Bond Deeper Than The Ocean by steven-donegani
I love the first Bioshock so I was more than pumped when the lads over at :iconbattle-artist: announced their subject for this weeks battle.

it started out simple and turned into an all-out love letter to the game that truly showed us what "next-gen" consoles were capable of.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it!

If you haven't played it yet, would you kindly do?

The suggester said: "This is a marvelous, breathtaking masterpiece. It shows that there is still friendship in a corrupt world like Rapture. The posing and how the hair is swaying is fantastic." ( Suggested by Blackfeather2 and Featured by TommyGK )

Y'know, even though the first Bioshock was released in 2007, it still holds up as one of my top five favorite video games ever seven years later.
One of my favorite things about this piece is all the little details you don't notice looking at it the first time around: the diffusion of neon lights underwater, the streaks left behind by droplets running down the fogged-up glass, the reflection of the ADAM off the Little Sister's dress...All of that serves as a testament to how immersive and complete the city of Rapture (and by extension, the world of Bioshock) really is! This is just magnificent and well-worth the DD!
That being said, I really hope these two don't have the misfortune of running across a certain sweater-wearing, plasmid-shooting parasite because I don't think my feelings could handle it ;P

This is incredible, hands down.

This is very dark picture, but still so touching, because it's true.

Even if the relationship of Little Sisters and Big daddies was forced on them, it still wasn't entirely false. The little girls had nothing and no one else to look after them, to play with them, to be their friend... to be honest, I felt a little bad whenever I killed Big Daddies. But I always saved the little ones.

The game did a wonderful job playing with your morals and making you feel bad for surviving by any means. I'm really looking forward to what they do with Infinite!

:iconclapplz:Sweet! I love the watery background of Rapture with the neon signs! Oh, I also really like the Big Daddy and Little Sister! Great detail!
